Harvey Earns All-Arena Honors

Jacksonville Sharks News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The 2013 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks and the Arena Football League announced Thursday that Shark wide receiver Jeron Harvey has been named to the Second Team All-Arena Offense.

A fourth-year Shark, the 29-year-old Harvey enjoyed the most productive season of his AFL career in 2013. He established a new single-season franchise record with 146 receptions, finishing fourth in the league in that category. Harvey also led the Sharks with 1,593 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns.

Harvey was a consistent offensive force throughout the season, catching a touchdown pass in all but three games while scoring multiple times in 10 different contests. Harvey began the season with three touchdown catches in the season opener against Tampa Bay, then racked up at least one touchdown in 11 straight games from Week 5 through Week 5. Harvey was at his best in the middle of the second, crossing the 100-yard mark in six consecutive contests spanning Week 9 through Week 14.

Though All-Arena consideration only takes the regular season into account, Harvey continued to build on his season in the Sharks' playoff opener against the Tampa Bay Storm. In Jacksonville's 69-62 win, Harvey caught 13 passes for 113 yards and three touchdowns, adding a rushing touchdown as well.

This is the first All-Arena award of Harvey's career. Overall, the Sharks feature four 2013 All-Arena performers, as Terrance Smith (First Team), Jerry Turner (Second Team) and Aaron Robbins (Second Team) were all named to the All-Arena Defense on Wednesday. Harvey becomes the third offensive player to earn All-Arena distinction in franchise history, as quarterback Aaron Garcia and offensive lineman Randy Degg were named to the First Team in 2011.
