Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg City Islanders will cap off their 2017 season with a matchup on the road against the Charleston Battery on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.

Harrisburg is on a roll, having won four of their last five matches and are currently on a three-game winning streak heading into the match against the Battery.

While Harrisburg cannot make the USL Playoffs, they are still fighting for one of the best finishes to a season in the league.

Harrisburg and Charleston have played one time in the season to a thrilling 2-2 draw at FNB Field. Jonny Mendoza snatched a draw from defeat with a last-minute goal on what was the last play of the game.

The City Islanders opened up the scoring with a laser from Rasheed Olabiyi. Then, Charleston scored two quick goals in the span of a minute to take a lead in the 70th minute. Mendoza's shot before the final whistle leveled the score and the Islanders walked off of their home turf unbeaten.

Ropapa Mensah is the player that has stormed onto the scene in the final half of the season. He has posted four goals in the last three games and has seven goals in just 19 appearances on the season. He was named USL Player of the Week for the third time after posting two goals in two games against both Ottawa and Saint Louis.

Unfortunately, Mensah will sit out of Saturday's match as a result of a yellow card accumulation. Cardel Benbow and Pedro Ribeiro are also suspended from play due to a red card and a yellow card accumulation, respectively.

Harrisburg will look to end the season on a high note by taking down one of their rivals in the Battery who are poised as one of the best teams in the league.

The Battery is currently in second place in the league with 48 points. They are led by Romario Williams with 15 goals in only 21 appearances. Williams is backed up by five other players who have posted at least four goals on the season.

Kick-off at MUSC Health Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. Fans can tune into the game via the USL Match Center.
