Albany Devils News Release

Bridgeport, Conn. - Jeff Hamilton scored three goals and added and assist to lead the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (11-16-2-0) to a 5-2 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters (12-13-1-3) at Harbor Yard on Friday evening.

Lowell had their chances in the first period with three power plays, including a two-man advantage for over a minute and a half near the middle of the stanza. Their best chance on the power play, however, came when Colin Forbes rang one off the crossbar with about nine minutes to play. It wasn't until just 63 seconds remained in the period before a goal was scored. Jeremy Colliton redirected a shot from Hamilton to give the Sound Tigers a 1-0 advantage heading into the dressing room. G Tom Lawson made nine saves in the period for the Monsters.

In the second, three consecutive penalties in just 1:29 led to Bridgeport opening up a 3-0 lead. David Masse and Hamilton scored power play tallies just over a minute apart to extend their advantage before the midway point of the game. At 10:11 the Tigers made it 4-0, with Hamilton chipping in a loose rebound from the right side of the crease for his second of the night. Bridgeport outshot Lowell 16-6 during the middle frame.

The Lock Monsters came out hard in the third and made a game of it. An early two-man advantage in the third frame led the way to Lowell's first of the night. Vince Bellissimo gathered in a rebound and tucked it into an open left side of the net for his fifth of the season at 2:16. Just over a minute later Dan DaSilva potted his second of the year with one second left on the power play to give the Monsters life and cut the lead to two. But it's as close as they would get. Hamilton added his third of the game on a two-man advantage later in the period to regain the three-goal lead and keep the Monsters at bay.
