Hamilton Travels To Iowa, Quad City, Chicago And Milwaukee This Week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will compete in four match-ups this week. The 'Dogs meet four West Division teams as they wrap up their five-game road trip. Tomorrow evening at 8:05 p.m. EST the 'Dogs visit the Iowa Chops (AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks) before heading to Quad City to battle the Flames (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) on Friday, March 20th for a 8:05 p.m. EST game. On Saturday, March 21st, the Bulldogs encounter the Chicago Wolves (AHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers) for an 8:00 p.m. EST game before ending the week in Milwaukee for a game against the Admirals (AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators) on Sunday, March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. EST.

The Bulldogs went 2-1-0-0 this past week, bringing their record to 41-25-2-0. The 'Dogs hosted the Manitoba Moose for games on Friday, March 13th and Saturday March 14th at Copps Coliseum. The Bulldogs dropped a 4-3 decision to the Moose on Friday before bouncing back and defeating Manitoba 5-1 on Saturday. Hamilton began its five-game road trip on Sunday, March 15th with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Rochester Americans at Blue Cross Arena.

- On Monday, March 9th Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois announced that Ron Wilson has been named the interim head coach of the hockey club. Wilson replaced Don Lever who has been named as an assistant coach with the Montreal Canadiens.

- Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois announced on Tuesday, March 10th that Sergio Momesso has been named interim assistant coach.

- RW Mike Glumac is on a five-game goal-scoring streak and point streak where he has posted nine points (seven goals, two assists).

- RW Sergei Kostitsyn is on a seven-game point streak that has seen him earn 10 points (three goals, seven assists).

- C Brock Trotter is on a four-game point streak where he has accumulated five points (two goals, three assists).

- C Ben Maxwell is on a four-game assist streak that has seen him register four assists.

- Hamilton dropped both games they played against the Wolves last season

- Hamilton is 8-7-0-2-0 in 17 all-time contests against Chicago

- RW Jeff Hamilton, who is not currently on Chicago's roster after signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs, is leading the Wolves with 53 points (16 goals, 37 assists) in 50 games

ALUMNI WATCH:

There are currently over 40 former Bulldogs in the NHL at this time. Over 60 percent of the players on Hamilton's all-time roster have played in a minimum of one NHL game. Three former Bulldogs head or assistant coaches (Doug Jarvis, Claude Julien, and Geoff Ward) are currently in a coaching capacity in the NHL. Here are a few highlights and accomplishments of ex-'Dogs from this past week:

- Toronto C Mikhail Grabovski recorded a goal on March 10 before earning two goals and an assist on March 14.

- Atlanta D Ron Hainsey had back-to-back assists with one on both March 12 and March 14

- Detroit RW Dan Cleary scored a goal on March 12 before posting an assist on March 14

- Los Angeles C Jarret Stoll notched two goals on March 9 and also recorded an assist on March 13

- Dallas C Steve Ott potted two goals on March 14

- Montreal C Tomas Plekanec scored a goal on March 12 and added another goal on March 14

BULLDOUGS FOUNDATION:

Brock Trotter was named as the Community Player of the Month for February. Throughout February, Brock took part in various promotions on behalf of The Bulldogs Foundation. He showed his dedication to the community not only during February, but also throughout the entire season visiting various schools and hospitals.

Ryan White and Brock Trotter visited the Meadowlands LCBO for a PMA/Appletons Jamaica Rum promotion on Saturday, February 7th. Cedrick Desjardins and David Desharnais visited the Millcroft LCBO for a PMA/Appletons Jamaica Rum promotion on Saturday, February 7th.
