December 26: at Toronto - Marlies 3, Bulldogs 2

Mike Kostka scored one goal and added one assist and Matt Frattin assisted on all three goals as the Marlies posted a 3-2 win over the Bulldogs in a Boxing Day matinee before 18,800 at Air Canada Centre. The Marlies scored two power-play goals on the way to a 3-0 lead before defencemen Frederic St-Denis and Nathan Beaulieu scored in the final two minutes of regulation to bring the Bulldogs to within one. Cedrick Desjardins faced 33 shots in goal for the Bulldogs, who dropped a fifth consecutive game, while Ben Scrivens made 19 saves for the Marlies. The Bulldogs went 0-for-3 on the power play. The Marlies were 2-for-7. The crowd was the largest to see the Marlies in Toronto.

December 28: at Hamilton - Bulldogs 6, IceCaps 3

Gabriel Dumont recorded five points, including three goals, as the Bulldogs snapped a season-high five-game losing skid with a 6-3 win that avenged a 2-1 loss to the visiting IceCaps on Dec. 21. The Bulldogs outshot the IceCaps 14-7 in the first period and owned a 3-0 lead courtesy of two goals by Dumont and one from Louis Leblanc. The visitors responded with three second-period goals to tie the game, but the Bulldogs replied with three more in the third: Morgan Ellis scored the winner at 1:39, Dumont completed his hat trick at 18:30 and Brendon Nash's first goal of the season closed the scoring into an empty net at 19:30. Robert Mayer made 26 saves in the Hamilton net to earn the win. The Bulldogs sent IceCaps starter Mark Dekanich to the bench with three goals on 10 shots in 12:32. Eddie Pasquale faced 26 shots the rest of the way. The Bulldogs were 2-for-5 on the power play while St. John's went 0-for-5. A crowd of 5,957 took in the Bulldogs' final home game of 2012.

December 29: at Cleveland - Monsters 4, Bulldogs 0

Stefan Elliott and Mark Olver scored goals 18 seconds apart in the sixth minute of the third period and Calvin Pickard made 17 saves to record his third shutout of the season as the Monsters skated to a 4-0 win. Elliott opened the scoring on the power play at 18:23 of the first period as part of a 22-shot barrage the Monsters fired at Bulldogs starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins. Bill Thomas, who failed to convert on a second-period penalty shot, closed the scoring on the power play at 8:24 of the third. Desjardins faced 41 shots through 47:52 before being replaced by Robert Mayer, who did not allow a goal on six shots the rest of the way. The Bulldogs were 0-for-3 on the power play while the Monsters went 2-for-7. The Monsters' 47 shots on goal marked a season high while the Bulldogs marked season highs for shots allowed in a game and a period.

The Bulldogs have five wins and one tie in 10 previous New Year's Eve starts. The Bulldogs, who have won their last two Dec. 31 games, have only played one home game on New Year's Eve, a 7-1 loss to the St. John's Maple Leafs in 2000 ... The Bulldogs have played only one New Year's Day game in their history, a 3-0 road loss to the Lake Erie Monsters in 2010 ... Bill Thomas's penalty shot at Lake Erie was the first surrendered by the Bulldogs this season and the 22nd faced by Bulldogs' goaltenders in club history. The last successful opposition penalty shot was scored by one-time Bulldog Darryl Boyce, who counted for the Toronto Marlies against Bulldogs' netminder Cedrick Desjardins in overtime at Copps Coliseum on Dec. 7, 2008. Bulldogs' goaltenders have stopped seven subsequent attempts ... The Bulldogs' two power-play goals against the IceCaps broke a five-game drought in which the team had failed to convert on 16 man-advantage opportunities. RW Alexander Avtsin earned an assist against the IceCaps in his first appearance since a 4-1 loss to the visiting Lake Erie Monsters on Nov. 25 ... D Mike Commodore returned to the lineup against St. John's after losing three games to a groin injury ... G Cedrick Desjardins has faced five penalty shots as a member of the Bulldogs. No other goaltender in club history has faced more than two. Desjardins has stopped all but one of those attempts ... C Gabriel Dumont became the first Bulldogs player to score three goals in a game since Aaron Palushaj collected a hat trick in a 6-3 road win over the Manitoba Moose on April 8, 2011. Dumont's five-point effort, which equals an AHL high this season, was one shy of the club record for points in one game set on Dec. 8, 2002 by Chad Hinz in a 15-1 win over the visiting Cleveland Barons and equalled by Corey Locke on April 9, 2008 in an 8-4 win over the visiting Rochester Americans. BULLDOGS HOCKEY HOUR AT MONTANA'S

The next instalment of the Bulldogs Hockey Hour will be held live on location on Monday, January 7th at 7 p.m. at Montana's Cookhouse at 1508 Upper James Street in Hamilton.

Fans can join Bulldogs play-by-play broadcaster Derek Wills and colour commentator Al Craig as well as player and coaches as they review the past week of Bulldogs hockey and preview what's to come. The interactive setting will allow fans to ask questions, get autographs, win prizes and enjoy food and drink specials.

BULLDOGS AND HAMILTON POLICE TEAMING UP TO COMBAT DRINKING AND DRIVING

The Bulldogs and Hamilton Police have announced a program aimed at reducing impaired driving in Hamilton. Motorists who successfully complete RIDE spot checks will be presented with a voucher that can be exchanged for a pair of tickets to any of the Bulldogs' four January home games:
