Groove Suffer First Home Loss In Five Games

Greenville, SC – The Fayetteville Patriots went on a 29 to 17 run in the fourth quarter to defeat the Greenville Groove 87-78. Fayetteville improves to 8-6, while Greenville falls to 8-6. The Patriots and the Groove are tied for second place in the league standings.

Greg Gray was named the Greenville Groove player of the game. He had 17 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Gray went 7 of 14 from the field, and three of four on free throws.

Greenville had four players with double figure games, the thirteenth consecutive game with at least three players in double digits. Donald Hand (17 points), Greg Gray (17 points), Billy Thomas (10 points), and Brandon Kurtz (10 points) all had double scoring games.

Matt Barnes came off the bench to led the Patriots, with 21 points. He went 9 of 16 from the field and had six rebounds. Terrell McIntyre (12 points), William Sanders (10 points), and Jeff Aubry (10 points) all had double figure nights.

The game was tied ten times. There were also nine lead changes. The largest lead by Greenville was six points, while the Fayetteville led by as much as ten.
