Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and General Manager Tim Branham announced today that the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Aaron Dell, forward Kenton Miller and defenseman Darren Rowe for the 2013-2014 season.

Dell, 24, enters his second professional season after being named the Central Hockey League's Most Outstanding Goaltender last year with the Allen Americans, while also leading the team to their first CHL Championship. In the regular season, Dell went 22-11-6 with a 2.30 goals-against-average, a .916 save percentage and three shutouts. He won all 12 playoff games for the Americans in 2013 and went 49-20-5 with eight shutouts in three seasons at the University of North Dakota.

"Having Aaron, a proven championship winning goaltender, is a huge asset to our organization," said Branham. "His presence in net will add a lot of confidence to our team."

Miller, 22, had 30 goals and 21 assists for 51 points in 53 games last year with the CHL's Missouri Mavericks and also got called up to the AHL's Chicago Wolves for six games. He had seven goals and four assists for 11 points in 13 playoff games for the Mavericks last season after completing four years of junior hockey in the WHL where he played in 37 career playoff games totaling 13 goals and 4 assists with Spokane and Moose Jaw.

"Kenton is a pure goal scorer. He is able to produce at every level he has played," said Branham. "We look forward to him continuing that trend here in Utah."

Rowe, 24, played three games with the Grizzlies last year after completing college at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He had one goal and two assists in three games with Utah as he played in games eight, nine and ten of Utah's season-long ten-game unbeaten streak in March.

"Darren showcased himself well when he joined the Grizzlies at the end of last season," said Branham. "I'm looking forward to see him develop his pro game."

The Grizzlies enter their ninth season in the ECHL and their 19th year in Utah in 2013-2014 after previously competing in the IHL and AHL from 1995-2005. They play at Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah which hosted Olympic Ice Hockey during the 2002 Winter Olympics. During their history, the Grizzlies have advanced over 200 players to the NHL. The Grizzlies are owned and operated by the Elmore Sports Group, which also owns several minor league baseball teams across the western United States.

The Grizzlies open the regular season Friday, October 18 against Idaho at Maverik Center at 7:05 p.m.
