Grizzlies Kick off Veterans Weekend Today with VA Hospital Visit

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies will kick off their Military Weekend with an all-team visit to visit veterans at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City today at 2 p.m. The team hosts Alaska Friday at 7 p.m. for Military Night.

Active military in uniforms and veterans will be able to purchase half priced tickets at the arena box office for Friday's game.

In addition, Friday's game with Alaska will kick off with the Grizzlies entire team holding a large United States flag that will take over almost half of the ice surface for the Star Spangled Banner.

Dropping the puck will be Lieutenant Colonel David G. Shoemaker. Lieutenant Colonel David G. Shoemaker is the Commander of the: 421st Fighter Squadron, 388th Operations Group, 388th Fighter Wing, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The 421st Fighter Squadron conducts flying operations to maintain combat readiness of an F-16CM squadron consisting of approximately 40 personnel and more that $600 million in assets.

The team will also honor all military and veterans at the game during the second period along with several other in-game features planned.
