Grizzlies Host Defending Champs at the 'E'Center

October 29, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release

The Grizzlies (0-4-0-1) and the defending Calder Cup champion Milwaukee Admirals (3-0-1-0) meet tonight for the first of a home-and-home series that will conclude tomorrow night in Wisconsin. In all, the two former IHL rivals meet 10 times including five times at the 'E' Center. Both teams have been off since last Friday when each failed to gain a victory.

The Grizzlies will be wearing special Halloween Jerseys, courtesy of Barco Truck Rental, that will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds going to Easter Seals.

The Admirals return 14 players from last year's championship team including all-AHL standout Timofei Shishkanov. So far this season, Shishkanov has scored three goals with two assists in four games. Former Coyote draft selection Wyatt Smith leads the Admirals in scoring with six points (2-4 -6).

The Grizzlies are looking for their first win of the young season having dropped each of the last four games. Utah is led by a trio of players with three points (Erik Westrum, Matthew Spiller and Jeff Taffe). Former Grizzly Nick Naumenko was signed by the team to a try-out and should see action tonight.

Next Game: The Grizzlies and Admirals meet again tomorrow night at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. Face-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM (MT).

***Tonight's game can be heard on ESPN Radio AM 1230***
