Grizzlies Fall 3-2 in Boise

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads (6-2-0-1) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (5-2) 3-2 Friday night in Boise in the fourth matchup of the Western Conference's top two teams in the first 21 days of the season.

Utah finishes the four-game stretch 3-1 against Idaho as their eight-game winning streak overall against the Steelheads came to an end.

The Grizzlies took a 1-0 lead 1:58 into the first period as Bryan Cameron picked up a turnover and fed Mitch Wahl, who on his second attempt, gave Utah a 1-0 lead. Idaho came back with two goals to take a 2-1 first intermission lead.

In the second, Utah tied the contest at two 13:17 into the frame on a Paul McIlveen power-play goal with Drew MacKenzie and Nick Tuzzolino drawing assists.

The Steelheads though regained the lead just 15 seconds later and the 3-2 score would stand.

Each team had chances in the third as Utah's Ryan Donovan, in his Grizzlies debut, made some spectacular saves to keep Utah within a goal. Donovan stopped 28 of 31 in the game.

The Grizzlies are next in action Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in Colorado. Face-off all three nights is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Utah returns home on Monday, November 12 for Maverik Monday. With a receipt from Maverik, fans can purchase six tickets for $30 at the arena box office. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Grizzlies cup and discounted Pepsi products throughout the season.
