Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - Trailing 2-0 with less than three minutes left to go in regulation, the Utah Grizzlies (6-2) battled back with two power-play goals from Dennis Packard and defeated the Ontario Reign 3-2 in a shootout Friday night at the E-Center for the team's third-annual "Pink in the Rink" game for breast cancer awareness. $18,000 was raised for the Susan G. Komen Foundation following the team's post-game jersey auction.

Utah was unable to convert on their first six power-plays before catching fire late in the game. Packard tipped the puck past Ontario netminder John Murray with 2:15 left to go as Utah was 27 seconds into power-play number seven to make the score 2-1. 26 seconds later, Utah was awarded their eighth power-play and scored with 19.9 seconds left to tie the game and force the overtime.

After outshooting Ontario 5-2 in the overtime, the game went to a shootout. In the shootout, Mike Mole stopped all five Ontario shots while James Sixsmith was Utah's only player to score.

Utah outshot Ontario 43-21 in the game.

Mike Mole stopped 19 of 21 in regulation and the overtime for his and the Grizzlies fourth-straight win. Mole improved to 4-2.

Utah returns home Saturday to complete their three-game series with Ontario. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
