October 2, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL) - Utah Grizzlies
West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley today announced the team\'s training camp roster. In addition, the Grizzlies will have four players assigned to them from the Calgary Flames organization by early next week. Training camp opens Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Acord Ice Center. All practices are open to the public.
The roster includes: six rookies, eight players who attended AHL training camp in Bridgeport, eight who played for the Grizzlies last year and eight players total who have also played in the AHL.
*Denotes attended training camp with the Grizzlies and Islanders AHL affiliate the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
*Dov Grumet-Morris: 31-11-4 career ECHL record, 57-28-11 overall.
Parker Van Buskirk: Rookie was 6-4-1 last year with Stockton (ECHL) in playoffs.
*Victor Bartley: 21-year-old spent 10 games last year with the AHL\'s Providence Bruins after completing his junior career with 15 goals and 31 assists for 46 points and 97 penalty minutes with Regina of the WHL.
*Dustin Friesen: Enters his rookie season; was captain at the University of New Brunswick where he was a plus-28 last year and had 20 points in 28 games.
Tim Maxwell: Had 5 goals and 15 assists for 20 points in rookie season with Utah last year.
*Evan Stoflet: Led Utah defensemen with a plus-21 in his rookie season in 2008-2009.
Luke Sellars: 1999 second-round draft pick of Atlanta, made NHL debut with Thrashers in 2001-2002.
Matt Caria: Finished 5th in Ontario Hockey League in scoring last year with 34 goals and 58 assists for 92 points in 67 games. Finished 12 points behind Islanders first overall pick John Tavares in scoring.
Wes Clark: Played last year with Phoenix and Johnstown in the ECHL, tallying two goals and 18 assists in 48 games.
Matt Clarke: Had 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points and 91 penalty minutes last year in London of the OHL where he played for Grizzlies Assistant Coach Pat Curcio. He was also a teammate of Islanders first overall draft pick John Tavares.
*Jason Dale: Had 18 goals and 25 assists for 43 points in 68 games last year with Brampton of the OHL.
Moises Guitierrez: Sixth round pick of Pittsburgh in 2004. Has 20 goals and 28 assists for 48 points and 172 penalty minutes in 87 career ECHL games.
Ryan Kinasewich: Enters fifth season in Utah, is the second-leading scorer in team history with 108 goals and 145 assists for 253 points in 180 total games.
Tom May: All-star in rookie season with Utah, while leading team with 31 goals. Was third in the ECHL after January 1 with 27 goals last year as well.
*Vladimir Nikiforov: Named ECHL All-Star in first season with Utah. Had 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points in 45 games with Grizzlies; while also logging 19 games in the AHL with Bridgeport.
Mark Pavli: Had nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 45 games last year with Utah.
*Adam Perry: Split last year with San Antonio (AHL) and Arizona (CHL) totaling 24 points and 35 assists for 59 points in 57 games. Brother Corey plays for the Anaheim Ducks.
*James Sixsmith: 12 goals and 15 assists last year with Utah in 31 games while also logging 42 games in the AHL with Milwaukee and Bridgeport.
Scott Thauwald: Returns for second season in Utah after totaling 21 points in 57 games last year with Utah and Augusta.
