Greenville's McPherson named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Allan McPherson of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 30-Nov. 5. It is the third time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.
McPherson had eight points (2g-6a) in three games last week as the Swamp Rabbits extended their winning streak to four games.
The 26-year-old had a goal and three assists in a 7-5 win over Kansas City on Wednesday, and after being held scoreless in a 3-2 victory over South Carolina on Friday, against posted a goal and three assists in a 5-4 win against Jacksonville on Saturday.
A native of Kinburn, Ontario, McPherson leads the ECHL with 16 points (5g-11a) in nine games this season.
McPherson has posted 116 points (41g-75a) in 110 career ECHL games with Greenville and Elmira while adding nine points (5g-4a) in 94 career American Hockey League games with Abbotsford, Rochester, Hartford and Texas. Prior to turning pro, Frazee tallied 188 points (72g-116a) in 313 career games in the Western Hockey League with Portland, Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, Regina and Kamloops.
Prior to turning pro, McPherson tallied 103 points (41g-62a) in 150 career games at Clarkson University.
On behalf of Allan McPherson, a case of pucks will be donated to a Greenville youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 37,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
