GreenJackets Let Another Get Away

Augusta, GA-With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Johnseshwy Fargas on second pinch running for Jose Vizcaino who hit a two out double, and with the Hagerstown Suns leading the Augusta GreenJackets 7-6, Sandro Fabian came to bat for the GreenJackets. Fabian flew out to right field as the GreenJackets dropped their second straight game Monday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

The GreenJackets had a 5-3 lead going into the top of the seventh. After having given up only three runs off six hits, striking out four, and not allowing any walks through the first six innings, starter Raffi Vizcaino returned to the mound to begin the seventh for the GreenJackets. Adderling Ruiz hit a bunt single to lead off the inning. He walked the next two batters to load the bases with nobody out, ending his night.

With Sandro Cabrera on in relief, Blake Perkins greeted him with a 2 run double to tie the game. With one out, Aldrem Corredor grounded out to score the go ahead run. Jake Noll followed with a single to score Perkins making it 7-5 Suns.

The Suns took the early 2-0 lead in the top of the first but the GreenJackets struck back. With one out in the bottom of the innings, Cristian Paulino hit a single and then stole second. Jean Angomas followed with a single scoring Paulino and cutting Hagertown's lead to 2-1. With two on and one out in the bottom of the third, Skyler Ewing hit a three-run home run to put the GreenJackets up 4-2.

The GreenJackets will be back in action Tuesday night for the final game of the four-game series with the Suns. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm with the gates opening at 6:00pm. It is Christmas in July as well as Toys for Tots where any fan who brings an unwrapped toy will receive a free BOGO ticket to the game. It is also Tuesday Brewsday featuring half-price beverages all night long.

Garrett Williams (4-2, 2.21) will start on the mound for the GreenJackets against Tyler Watson (5-4, 4.34) for the Suns.
