Player of the Week
The Sox have been playing some brilliant baseball, and so it's no surprise that individual players are getting some honors. On Tuesday, Minor League Baseball named Michael Chavis of the Salem Red Sox Carolina League Player of the Week for the second time in the 2017 season, stretching from May 22 to May 28, 2017. batted .462 with a .500 on-base percentage and .731 slugging percentage on the week, including a double and two homers. He scored seven runs and knocked in seven more, helping the Sox maintain their edge atop the Carolina League's Northern Division. Chavis isn't the only Sox player to earn the honor this year, as Josh Ockimey was the first Player of the Week for the season. Congrats to Michael on an award well-earned!
