Iowa Chops News Release
DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White and Head Coach Dave Allison, along with 37 of the Dallas Stars Top Prospects, will convene at the Dr Pepper StarCenter facility in Frisco, Texas for the Dallas Stars Development Camp. Scheduled to run from Monday, July 24th through Saturday, July 29th, the camp schedule includes on- and off-ice strength and conditioning workouts as well as a scrimmage and shootout on the final day.
The week-long camp will see no-less than 10 members of the 2005-2006 Iowa Stars in attendance. Members of last season's Iowa Stars expected to take part in the camp include: Forwards Chris Conner, B.J. Crombeen, Loui Eriksson, Yared Hagos, Marius Holtet, Vojtech Polak, Janos Vas and Francis Wathier; Defensemen Nicklas Grossman and Mario Scalzo. Players that donned the Iowa Stars jersey last season will account for 27% of the camp's attendees.
Breaking down the nationalities of the players attending the camp, we see nine different countries represented. Canada and the United States lead the way with 12 and nine players, respectively. Other countries include: Sweden (6); Finland (2); Russia and Czech Republic (2); Norway, Hungary and Switzerland (1).
