Marysville Ca., - Time to show some pride! The Marysville Gold Sox Team is proud to announce that some of its roster changes this year include adding some Marysville natives. This year, the Gold Sox team is proud to introduce Dalton Maxwell, Caden "Bucket" Goldby, Devin Pettengill, Darrel Doll, Ryan McCarthy, and Joey Mejia." It is very important to myself and Coach Correa to keep the best local talent in Marysville which continues to keep the homegrown tradition here", said VP Michael Mink.

Dalton Maxwell, coming out of Grass Valley, California, and Nevada Union High School, is a switch hitting SS from NAIA powerhouse Menlo College. Last season Maxwell made 42 starts for them while only making an impressive 2 errors and batting .248 with a .313 OBP and a .326 SLG%.

"Dalton has great makeup both on and off the field and a good bat to back that up as well. Most importantly he shows great character and takes care of business off the field boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA."

Caden "Bucket" Goldby is a native of Yuba City and comes to us after a very impressive year with Yavapai CC winning the NJCAA National Title. Goldby hit 3 home runs and batted .275 for the Roughriders last season. Goldby was drafted out of high school by the Miami Marlins and brings a lot of talent and pride in being a native of Yuba City.

"I had the pleasure of meeting Bucket out in Arizona while recruiting and was very impressed with his abilities as a LHH outfielder and even more impressed with the type of person he is. I'm really looking forward to spending the summer with him."

Devin Pettengill, a middle infielder also hailing from Yuba City, CA. At Consumes River College, Pettengill led all California JC schools in batting average; earning himself a spot on the Junior College All-American 1st Team. Pettengill currently attends school at west coast baseball powerhouse UC Irvine.

Coach Correa on Pettengill...

"Pettengill will bring strong experience, speed, and a great bat both as a middle infielder and outfielder. Playing under a hall of fame coach in Coach Gillespie at UC Irvine I know he will fit in perfectly with the Gold Sox team."

Darrel Doll is a returning Gold Sox member from last year and product of Yuba College. As a Freshman for Yuba, Doll batted .308 with 2 home runs and 13 RBI's last season.

"I had the pleasure of coaching Darrel last season as he made a great impact on our squad as a utility player and teammate. I am excited to have him return as a sophomore and having him back on the Gold Sox."

Ryan McCarthy also returns to the Gold Sox after last season out of Nevada City, CA. McCarthy led the Great West League for majority of the summer in wins pitching 45.2 innings, giving up only 51 hits and 27 runs.

"Taking the year off to focus on school, Ryan is still fresh, so we're happy to have him back and see him improve even more. He is another great addition to our roster."

Joey Mejia, brother of former Gold Sox player Louis Mejia is a homegrown talent out of Yuba City High School. During his freshman campaign at the University of the Pacific, Joey managed to pick up 3 starts thanks to his .313/.389/.375 line. Joey was also twice named Defensive Player of the Year in the Tri-County Conference after his junior and senior seasons.

"Mejia comes from a great competitive family and is a very solid player constantly improving every single day. As a baseball alumni from UOP myself, I'm always excited to have a Tiger join my squad and even more excited to have another Yuba City native play for the Gold Sox."
