Hartford, CT- In front of their ninth straight sellout of 6,776 at Dunkin' Donuts Park, the Hartford Yard Goats made it three straight victories with a 3-1 win over the Harrisburg Senators Friday night. Pitching in his second inning of relief, D.J. Johnson struck out Jose Marmolejos swinging with the tying runs on base, to notch his fourth save and preserve reliever Matt Pierpont's eighth win. Johnson and Pierpont combined to throw five scoreless innings.

The Yard Goats have had 29 sellouts this season, including eight straight crowds of 6,700 or more fans. Fourteen of Hartford's last 18 games have been sellouts and the club has now drawn 309,933 fans.

Hartford jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, when Harrisburg starting pitcher Matthew Crownover walked four batters, including Ashley Graeter with the bases loaded. But the Senators came back against lefty starter Nick Additon, making his Hartford debut, after being signed by the Colorado Rockies from the Korean Baseball Organization. A hit batsman, a walk and an RBI-single by Osvaldo Abreu tied the game.

The Yard Goats took the lead for good in the fourth inning. Max White opened the frame with double, while singles by Anthony Phillips and pinch hitter Pierpont, loaded the bases. That set the table for an Omar Carrizales' sacrifice fly to center and an RBI-single by Drew Weeks, adding two runs.

Phillips led the Yard Goats attack with three hits, including a double. White added a double and a single. Carrizales, Weeks and Graeter each had an RBI.

Additon hurled four innings in his debut, allowing one run on two hits, three walks and five strike outs. Pierpont gave up two hits over three scoreless innings with one walk and four strike outs to improve to 4-1. Johnson surrendered two hits, walked one and struck out two to notch the save.

Michael Taylor, on a rehabilitation assignment with the Washington Nationals, played center field and went 0-for-5. He made a spectacular over-the-shoulder catch in dead center on a drive hit by Jan Vazquez.

The Yard Goats host Harrisburg in a separate admission doubleheader on Saturday. The afternoon game will begin at 1:35 p.m., as righthander Ryan Castellani starts for Hartford against righthander Wirkin Estevez for Harrisburg. The night game will get underway at 6:35 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and on iHeart Radio.
