GOALKEEPER BORIS PARDO EARNS TEAM OF THE WEEK HONOR

SAN DIEGO - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the Team of the Week for week 14 and Sockers goalkeeper Boris Pardo was placed on the team for his efforts against the Turlock Express. Hiram Ruiz was named on the Honorable Mention list with his two goals in the same game.

Pardo has split time evenly with Chris Toth this season and has made every minute on the field count. On Friday, he posted a .900 save percentage as he led the Sockers to a 4-1 victory on the road in Turlock. He nearly was able to earn his first shutout of the season, keeping the Express scoreless until the final five minutes of the game. Pardo finished with nine saves on 10 Turlock shots.

Ruiz tallied two goals in the win over Turlock. He scored the game-winning goal early in the second period.

GOALKEEPER: Boris Pardo (San Diego Sockers) DEFENSE: Manuel Aragon (Soles de Sonora) - He helped Soles to hold off their opponent and also tallied three goals. Maicon de Abreu (Ontario Fury) - He provided an assist, then scored the equalizer late in the game. MIDFIELD: Tony Donatelli (Baltimore Blast) - He scored two goals on the road in the team's win against the Harrisburg Heat. FORWARD: Joey Tavernese (Syracuse Silver Knights) - He earned a spot on the Team of the Week for the second straight time. Omar Santillan (Monterrey Flash) - He scored four goals against San Diego.

HONORABLE MENTION: Diego Reynoso (Monterrey Flash), Joey Kapinos (Baltimore Blast), Luiz Mota (RGV Barracudas), Ian Bennett (Milwaukee Wave), Hiram Ruiz (San Diego Sockers), Liam Callahan (Syracuse Silver Knights), Ricardo De Queiroz Diegues (Florida Tropics), Lucas Almeida (St Louis Ambush), Franck Tayou (Soles de Sonora), Leo Gibson (Kansas City Comets), Edgar Flores (Monterrey Flash), Elmo Neto (Harrisburg Heat)
