June 26, 2017 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants announced on Monday that the hockey club will play its first home game of the 2017/18 season on Saturday, September 23, 2017 against the Victoria Royals at the Langley Events Centre. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm.

The BC Division rivals met 10 times during the 2016/17 regular season, and Vancouver has faced Victoria more than any other WHL club since the team's relocation to Vancouver Island in 2011.

The home opener will kick-off Vancouver's second full season at the LEC and will be the first of 36 home contests for the G-Men in 2017/18. WHL teams play 72 regular season games overall.

The Langley Events Centre opened in 2009 and is located in the Township of Langley on 200th street at 80th avenue. The 322,312 square foot facility has played host to hockey, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball and gymnastics as well as many other special events. The current capacity for hockey at the LEC is 5,276.
