VANCOUVER, BC - The Vancouver Giants are proud to announce the signing of the #1 rated player Alec Baer from Minnesota to a WHL Player Agreement.
Baer started the season with Benilde-St. Margaret's, one of the best high school teams in the state of Minnesota. Alec Baer was rated as the #1 Freshman in Minnesota by Western College Hockey SB Nation.
The 5'9", 150lb St. Louis Park native played for the Red Knights as a freshman and had 5 goals and 11 assists (16 points) in 19 games with Benilde-St. Margaret's.
"We are extremely excited to have Alec join our team and we are hoping to have him in the line up before the end of the season," said Giants'Executive Vice President & General Manager, Scott Bonner. "He will be a great addition to the Giants. Having Alec sign with us is a big step in the right direction for the team."
In his 2011-12 season, Baer played varsity hockey as an eighth grader for St . Louis Park High where he tallied 27 points (13 goals and 14 assists) in just 23 games and tied the St. Louis Park team lead with five game-winning goals.
