Everett, WA - Ryan Kubic made 40 saves, but the Vancouver Giants lost 1-0 to the Everett Silvertips on Saturday evening at the XFINITY Arena. Bradly Goethals scored the game's lone goal.

BOXSCORE

Kubic was called into action early in the game, making a big rebound save on Everett's Dominic Zwerger from the right circle. Goethals put the Silvertips on the board in the second period when he redirected the puck off Kubic's skate and into the net after a ricochet off the end boards.

The G-Men mounted a push on a late power play in the third period, pulling Kubic to make it 6-on-4, but they couldn't solve Everett netminder Carter Hart who made 21 saves for the shutout.

The Silvertips out shot Vancouver 41-21. The Giants were a perfect 6-for-6 on the penalty kill but went 0-for-3 on the power play.

15-year-old defenceman Bowen Byram, who was drafted third overall by Vancouver in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, played his fourth career game on the blue line.

Vancouver's next game will be in Prince George against the Cougars on Tuesday night at 7:00pm.

The Giants' next home game is set for Saturday, February 11th, against the Kelowna Rockets. Face-off is slated for 7:00pm at the Langley Events Centre. For tickets, click here or call 604.4.GIANTS (604.444.2687).
