Giants Fall to Rockets

Kelowna, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants lost their last game of the 2015/16 season on Saturday night, falling 10-1 at the hands of the Kelowna Rockets at Prospera Place. Dakota Odgers scored Vancouver's only goal.

The Rockets got first period goals from Jordan Borstmayer and Calvin Thurkauf to lead 2-0 after 20 minutes. Tyson Baillie scored his 42nd goal of the season at 4:33 of the middle frame before the teams combined for four goals in a span of only 58 seconds. Tanner Wishnowski scored a shorthanded goal for Kelowna at 9:49 before Odgers tallied Vancouver's only goal just seven seconds later. Rourke Chartier found the net for the Rockets at 10:27, and Baillie bagged his second goal of the night at 10:47. Lucas Johansen added his name to the score sheet before the end of the second period to give the Rockets a 7-1 lead.

Justin Kirkland, Riley Stadel and Thurkauf added third period goals for the Rockets.

Jake Morrissey started in goal for Vancouver, allowing six goals on 30 shots before being replaced by 16-year-old net minder David Tendeck. The North Vancouver native, who made only his second appearance in the WHL, allowed four goals on 21 shots.
