Meet local fitness centers to plan your New Year's goals when the Stars host Madison & Sioux City

LINCOLN, Neb. - Get your New Year started on the right foot with Get Fit Weekend as your Lincoln Stars host the Madison Capitols on Friday, Jan. 5 at 7:35 p.m. and the Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 7:05 p.m. from the Ice Box.

The Stars are doing their part to help people plan and begin their fitness and weight loss goals in 2018 with Get Fit Weekend. Visit with numerous local fitness centers, gyms and wellness clinics during either game to gain guidance and assistance for those looking for a place to train or lose weight. As an added bonus, fans will receive a punch card at one of the many tables, and if fans get each table to sign their card, then they will be entered to win signed Stars memorabilia for each game.

The first two games of 2018 for the Stars will come at home with redemption in mind. The Stars lost their last meeting against the Capitols and Musketeers on the road by just one goal, but the Stars have won five of seven games against Madison since 2014-15 as well as 13 of the last 16 season series against Sioux City. The Stars also earned a 16-10-3-0 record in 29 games at the Ice Box during 2017 while averaging just over three goals per game and outscoring the opposition 89-77.

Tickets for both games are available at the box office, by calling 402-474-7827 or going to LincolnStars.com. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for both games.

Season and group tickets for the 2017-18 season are available, so jump in by calling 402-474-7827 and speak with a Stars representative. The Stars mobile app is also available in the iTunes and Google Play stores with "tap to buy" tickets, in-game push notifications and a rewards program that puts fans in the skates of a player.
