Medicine Hat Tigers News Release

Medicine Hat, AB - On Tuesday morning the NHL released the final ranking for their Central Scouting list ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which kicks off Wednesday night.

In the midterm ranks the Tabbies had two representatives in Max Gerlach and David Quenneville, both stayed on the list for the final rankings Tuesday.

Quenneville moved up 57 spots from his midterm rank (201st) and now sits in at 144th among North Americans skaters. The 17 year old defenceman set career highs in goals, assists and points and was third in Tigers scoring with 55 points this year. Quenneville is known for his booming slap shot and puck moving skills, which Tiger fans are equipped to seeing on a nightly basis.

"It is a great feeling to have been selected among all the skaters in North America for the opportunity to be drafted by an NHL team," said Quenneville, who is at the U18 World Championships with Team Canada.

Gerlach on the other hand sits just ahead of his teammate coming in at 142nd on the final list, dropping down from the 78th position in the midterm ranks. The rookie Texan had a dry spell during the month of February, but Tiger fans know the offensive skill Gerlach brings to the game after a 30 goal rookie campaign, which led all Tigers in that category. Gerlach has a knack for the net and is very good in tight, Tiger fans are excited what Gerlach is going to do for the 2016-17 season.

Congratulations to David and Max and best of luck at the NHL Draft this June!
