PEARL, MISS. (April 18, 2013) - With no outs and two runners on for Jackson in the top of the sixth inning, rain suspended the Generals and Braves Thursday night, tied at 4-4. Play will resume Friday night at Trustmark Park at 5:30 p.m. with the regularly scheduled game five of the series to follow. Both the resumption of Thursday's game and Friday's regularly scheduled game will be nine inning games.

With the wind blowing at 25 mph out to left the Generals and Braves combined for six runs in the first inning Thursday. Jackson's Brad Miller belted a 2-run homer to left that gave the Generals a 2-0 edge.

In the bottom of the first Luis Nunez brought in two runs with a single to center and a third crossed on a fielding error in left by Leon Landry. The Braves added their fourth run on a RBI double from Jaime Pedroza.

Trailing 4-2 the Generals trimmed the deficit to 4-3 with a groundout by Miller that scored Landry. Jackson tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth on a bunt single from Landry that scored Gabriel Noriega.

Jackson starter Chance Ruffin (5.0,6,4,0,1,1) will not factor into the decision after giving up four unearned runs on six hits, walking one and striking out one. Braves' starter Gus Schlosser allowed four runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out one.

When the game resumes Friday John Hicks will be at third base and James Jones will be a first, with no outs in the top of the sixth. Each singled against Braves reliever Pat Egan.

The Generals and M-Braves will wrap up the five-game series on Friday night at Trustmark Park, with first pitch following the completion of Thursday's game. LHP James Gillheeney (2-0, 0.00) makes the start for Jackson against RHP Cody Martin (0-0, 5.87) for Mississippi.
