Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release
The Victoria Generals held off the Acadiana Cane Cutters, 3-2 on Faith and Family night at Fabacher Field Wednesday night.
In the second inning, Victoria broke through first with RBI singles from Chace Sarchet and Nick Anderson. Those two runs coupled with a throwing error from Acadiana which brought in another put the Generals up 3-0 early in the contest.
The Cane Cutters responded in the bottom of the second with a two-out RBI single from Texas A&M's Trey Jimmerson which made it a 3-1 contest.
Acadiana got a sacrifice fly RBI from Indiana State's Dane Geisler which pulled the Cutters within a run at 3-2.
That's the closest they would get even though this Acadiana squad banged out nine hits on the night.
The Cane Cutters will now head on the road this Saturday night where they'll take on these same Generals for a two-game set. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
