Oshawa, Ontario - January 10th, 2006 (Generals Hockey Inc.) - The Oshawa Generals announced today that they have acquired left-shot, defenceman Scott Madden from the Plymouth Whalers in exchange for Oshawa's 7th round draft pick in the 2007 draft.
Madden, 17, who was Mississauga's fourth round pick, 77th overall in 2004, is 5'11", 180lbs. and a native of Barrie, Ontario. In 20 games this season, Scott has 1 assist and 4 minutes in penalties. Last season, he was a member of the Lindsay Muskies of the O.P.J.H.L. Scott is the younger brother of New Jersey Devils' John Madden.
"Given the injury situation with our defence, I am pleased that we have been able to pick up a young defenceman who will have upside for our future" said Brad Selwood, General Manager of the Oshawa Generals.
