February 11, 2013 - World TeamTennis (WTT) - Boston Lobsters
To many players the hot Melbourne sun of the Australian Open can be overwhelming, but Lobsters like it steamy.
That is especially the case for Eric Butorac. Eric, along with his partner Paul Hanley, reached the third round.
It was the fourth year in a row that he reached at least that round of the tournament.
Irina Falconi and her partner Shuko Aoyama also had a huge win down under.
They defeated the 11th seeded team of Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova.
Isner, 2012 News from Melbourne was a little less positive for John Isner. Unfortunately, a knee injury forced him to withdraw from the tournament.
The good news is John's diligent conditioning routine enabled him to make a quick recovery and return to action.
He joined Sam Querrey of the Sacramento Capitals and Bob and Mike Bryan of the new expansion team in Texas to help the United States defeat Brazil 3-2 in the first round of the Davis Cup.
The tie came down to the fifth and deciding match where Sam Querrey defeated Thiago Alves 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).
Next up for Team U.S.A. is world number 1, Novak Djokovic and Serbia in round two which will be played in Boise, Idaho April 5th-7th.
