Gardiner Signs AHL Deal with Penguins

Prince Albert, SK - Raiders veteran Reid Gardiner signed an American Hockey League contract with the Wlikes-Barre Scranton Penguins for the 2016-17 season on Thursday.

Gardiner, 20, played in four seasons with the Raiders. He dressed in 262 career regular season games, finishing with 106 goals and 114 assists. Last season, Gardiner led the team with 43 goals, 39 assist and 92 points.

The Humboldt product finished his Raiders career tied for 10th on the all-time goal-scoring list and tied for 18th in career games played.

The Raiders play a home-and-home series with the Brandon Wheat Kings this weekend. The Wheat Kings come to the Art Hauser Centre in the second leg of series on Saturday night.

Saturday is also Pink In The Rink Night at the Art Hauser Centre. The Raiders will donate $1 from every walk-up ticket sold at the box office or online to Victoria Hospital. In addition, Hair Revolution will be cutting hair in the Johnny Bower Lobby. Adult cuts are $10, while kids are $5. Plus, they will be giving pink highlights for $3. Finally, Raiders captain Tim Vanstone will shave his head following the game if the fans raise $2,500.
