Lincoln Stars (9-9-3) | 5th - Western Conference
The Stars returned to .500 for the first time since late October with a 2-1 win against the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday. The victory marked the Stars fifth consecutive one-goal game and league-leading fifteenth overall. While Lincoln did not score on the power play last game, it is 5/17 in its last five games.
Des Moines Buccaneers (12-6-1) | 3rd - Western Conference
The Buccaneers have won three of their last four games after beating Omaha 4-3 on Friday. Des Moines has the third-highest scoring offense in the USHL and the second-best power play in the league, converting at 22.1%. In net, the Buccaneers have enjoyed the luxury of two veteran goalies with starter Jan Ruzicka and backup Nick MacNab. Both have seen action against the Stars this season.
Players to Watch
DM: Isaac Johnson - The 5'11" 179 pound defenseman has five points in his last give games. NHL Central Scouting projected him to be selected between the fourth and seventh rounds in the 2017 NHL Draft.
LIN: Justin Kendall - Kendall found his way into the lineup last weekend after being used as a healthy scratch the previous five games. He scored his first USHL goal on Friday.
Injury Report - Dominick Mersch and Josef Korenar have not played since Nov. 25 vs. Chicago. Bradley Arvanitis was added as an emergency goalie for Dec. 2-3

Series History - The Stars lead the season series, 3-2-0. The teams will meet a total of eight times with future matchups set for Jan. 13 and April 4. Mike Gillespie has one goal and three assists against the Buccaneers this season. Cameron Ochard has been hot for the Buccaneers against the Stars as he has two goals and one assist.
World Jr. A Challenge - Three Stars were selected to play in the World Jr. A Challenge in Bonnyville, Alberta from Dec. 11-17. Ethen Frank, Alex Green and Cayden Primeau will play for the U.S. Jr. Select Team. Coach Chris Hartsburg was named an assistant for Team USA.
Maver to WJC - Luka Maver will join Slovenia for the Division I World Jr. Championship from Dec. 12 - 17 in Budapest, Hungary. Slovenia will play in Group B against Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Ukraine.
NHL CSS - NHL Central Scouting released its updated "Players to Watch" list for November and included Josef Korenar, Cayden Primeau and Eero Terî=A4vî=A4inen. Primeau was given a B rating as a projected second or third-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. Korenar and Terî=A4vî=A4inen were given C ratings as projected fourth-seventh rounders.
