Omaha kicks off a three-game week on Wednesday night against Cedar Rapids, in the final meeting of the season between the teams.

Season Series:

The Lancers and RoughRiders play for the second and final time of the season on Wednesday night. Omaha claimed the previous meeting, topping Cedar Rapids 5-2 on February 17.

The Lancers have controlled the all-time series in the last five years. Cedar Rapids last victory over the Lancers came on November 3, 2012 in Cedar Rapids. Since that game Omaha has won nine-straight games against Cedar Rapids.

Forward Cole Gallant lead the Omaha offense in the Lancers February win in a game that jump started his recent goal-scoring success. Gallant recorded two goals against Cedar Rapids, while linemate Noah LaLonde impressed in his Omaha debut that night notching a goal and two assists. Overall ten different Lancers worked their way onto the scoresheet in the game. Omaha netminder Tommy Nappier has seen Cedar Rapids five times this season (once with Omaha, four times with Chicago). He is 5-0-0-0, with a 1.80 gaa and a 0.927 save percentage.

Cedar Rapids' Scott Perunovich led the RoughRiders, tallying two points (1g, 1a). Both Drew DeRidder and Zack LaRocque saw action against Omaha on February 17.

Eastern Swing:

Omaha heads into the final nine games of the season preparing to face several unfamiliar foes. Over the next seven games the Lancers will take on Eastern Conference opponents six times. Out of Omaha's opponents during the next five games Cedar Rapids is the only team that the Lancers have played this season. After Wednesday the Lancers will face Youngstown (March 17, 18) at home, and Green Bay (March 24, 25) on the road.

This season Omaha is .500 against the Eastern Conference going 6-6-0-0. In the last three games against Eastern Conference teams Omaha is 2-1-0-0.

Leading the Way:

In the last eight games no skater in the USHL has recorded more goals than Omaha forward Cole Gallant. Dating back to the February 17 game against Cedar Rapids Gallant has ten goals, including four multi-goal games.

During that same time span Gallant's 12 points is only second to Fargo's Blake Lizotte. In the last eight games Gallant has climbed his way into a tie for the team lead in goals (12), and is now seventh on the team in scoring.
