Lincoln Stars (24-15-5) | 5th- Western Conference

The Stars are two points out of a playoff spot after falling, 4-3, to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and ending a five-game road winning streak. Lincoln has gone 6-3-1 in its last 10 games. Special teams has had a huge impact on the Stars success lately as the penalty kill has four shorthanded goals and the power play has three goals in the last couple games.

Waterloo Black Hawks (28-12-4) | 2nd - Western Conference

The Black Hawks are one of the hottest teams in the USHL, entering Sunday on a 12-game point streak. Waterloo did not play on Saturday after winning 5-2 against Sioux Falls on Friday night. The Black Hawks are 8-0-2 in the last 10 games. In that recent stretch, Waterloo has had two games against Cedar Rapids, Sioux Falls and Tri-City. Newly acquired Alex Limoges has one goal and three assists in four games with the Black Hawks.

Players to Watch

WAT: Shane Bowers - The Boston University commit is on a nine-game point streak with seven goals and four assists. He is a projected first-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.

LIN: Gustaf Westlund - The Michigan commit has three assists in his last two games. He leads the team with 15 points on the power play.

Roster Report - Alex Green has been listed as injured since Feb. 17. Mike Gillespie and Jake Nielsen were injured on Feb. 18.

Series History - The Black Hawks lead the four-game season series, 3-0-0, with a 5-2 win on Oct. 6 in the Ice Box, a 2-0 win on Oct. 8 in Young Arena and a 5-3 win on Feb. 10 in the Ice Box.

NHL CSS - NHL Central Scouting released its Mid-Term Rankings in January. Cayden Primeau was ranked 4th among North American goalies and Josef Korenar was ranked 15th among North American goalies. Former Star Ryan Poehling was ranked 14th among North American skaters.

Five Nations Tournament - Christian Krygier (United States) and Eero Terî=A4vî=A4inen (Finland) recently represented their respective countries at the 2017 Five Nations Tournament. Krygier played in the U17 tournament from Feb. 8-12 in Brno, Czech Republic. Terî=A4vî=A4inen played in the U18 tournament at the same time in Sundsvall, Sweden.
