May 12, 2017 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

The Isotopes scored five runs in the final three innings Thursday night to complete a comeback win as they defeated the Nashville Sounds, 7-5, at First Tennessee Park. The victory was the first for Albuquerque when trailing after seven innings this season.

Albuquerque scored two runs in the opening frame to take an early lead, but the Sounds plated three runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth to go up 4-2. The Isotopes began to rally in the seventh, cutting the deficit to one when Cristhian Adames drove in Daniel Castro on a fielder's choice. The Sounds allowed the tying run to score in the eighth when reliever Aaron Kurcz was called for a balk. Domonic Brown followed with an RBI double to the right field gap to put the Isotopes ahead 5-4. Noel Cuevas gave Albuquerque two insurance runs in the ninth, poking a two-run single to right.

Cuevas went 3-for-5 with three RBI in the contest. The outfielder leads the team with 24 RBI this season and has also driven nine runs over his last three games.

Raimel Tapia had to wait until his fourth and final at-bat of the night to extend his hitting streak to 16 games, lining a single to center in the ninth inning.

Austin House tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win and improve his record to 3-0. The Albuquerque native has yielded just one earned run in 18 innings pitched this season for a 0.50 ERA. Matt Carasiti closed out the victory with his PCL leading eighth save.

The Isotopes and Sounds will be back in action Friday evening at First Tennessee Park. Albuquerque has yet to announce a starting pitcher while right-hander Daniel Gossett (0-2, 4.71) will toe the rubber for Nashville. The game is scheduled to get underway at 5:35 p.m.
