Sounders FC (14-14-6, 48 points) begins its eighth consecutive postseason campaign Thursday evening with a Knockout Round match against Sporting Kansas City (13-13-8, 47 points) on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field (7:00 p.m. PT / FS1, UniMás, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM). Thursday's contest is being aired nationally on FS1 and UniMás, with broadcast coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. PT. FS1's broadcast features John Strong, Alexi Lalas and Julie Stewart-Binks on the call, while UniMás airs the match in Spanish with commentators Raul Guzman, Xavier Sol and David Cabeza.
KIRO Radio 97.3 FM is airing tonight's match live, with Matt Johnson, Kasey Keller and Steve Zakuani providing the commentary, as well as Jason Rantz, Wade Webber and Danny Jackson handling pre, halftime and post-match coverage. Fans in Western Washington can tune-in to El Rey 1360 AM for a Spanish radio broadcast, featuring "Zuper" Mario Rodriguez and Felipe Maqueda. Pre-game radio coverage for both broadcasts begins at 6:30 p.m. PT.
Sounders FC concluded a late-season turnaround on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Decision Day, securing fourth place in the Western Conference and a spot in the 2016 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Brian Schmetzer's club finished the regular season on an 8-2-4 run and heads into Thursday's home Knockout Round match riding an eight-match unbeaten streak (6-0-2) at CenturyLink Field. Sporting Kansas City, who defeated the Rave Green in both regular-season meetings, finished in fifth place in the Western Conference following a 2-0 Decision Day win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
