TODAY'S GAME: The Isotopes begin an eight-game homestand today, starting with a four-game set against the Sacramento River Cats (Triple-A Giants). It is the first of 15 meetings between the two clubs in 2017. The River Cats lead the all-time series over the Isotopes 52-36 while also holding a 20-19 edge when playing at Isotopes Park. Today's contest will be broadcast live on KNML 610 AM, as well as over the internet at www.

abqisotopes.com. The voice of the Isotopes, Josh Suchon, is on the call.

ABOUT TUESDAY: The Fresno Grizzlies hit three home runs Tuesday night to power their way to an 8-2 win over the Isotopes in the series finale at Chukchansi Park. Despite the loss, Albuquerque remains a half game behind Salt Lake for first place in the Pacific Southern Division. The Grizzlies belted two home runs off Isotopes starter Matt Flemer during his six innings on the mound and hit one more in the eighth inning off reliever Sam Moll. Flemer was charged with the loss, dropping his record to 2-4 for the season. Albuquerque's only scoring came in the sixth inning when Jordan Patterson drove in Derrik Gibson with a groundout to second base and Anthony Bemboom followed with an RBI single to right. Bemboom finished the game 2-for-3 with a walk. All nine hits the Isotopes recorded Tuesday were singles, ending a streak of 40 straight games with at least one extra-base hit.

HOME COOKING: Isotopes batters have fared much better at home than on the road this season. Albuquerque is hitting .303 (249-for-822) runs at Isotopes Park while batting .259 (127-for-966) in away games. The pitching staff does not have as large of a disparity with its ERA between home and road games, as the pitchers have recorded a 4.75 ERA (115er/218.0ip) at home and 4.51 (119er/237.2) on the road.

START ME UP: Isotopes leadoff hitters have combined to hit .342 on the season (76-for- 222). Raimel Tapia has led off every game he has appeared in for the Isotopes, hitting .369 (52-for-141) for the third-best average in the PCL. Four other Isotopes are batting .333 or higher from the leadoff spot including Mike Tauchman at .500 (7-for-14) and Rosell Herrera at .400 (6-for-15). Without Tapia's leadoff numbers, the Isotopes initial batters are hitting .293 (24-for-82). When leading off an inning, Albuquerque is batting a combined .285 (121-for-424).

BASE BANDITS: The Isotopes rank second in the PCL with 59 stolen bases this season behind the Salt Lake Bees (Triple-A Angels). Albuquerque has stolen bases to a an 79% success rate on the season. Last year, the Isotopes stole 81 bases and had a 69% success rate. Rosell Herrera is 11-for-12 in swiping bags for the sixth-most stolen bases in the League.

TRIPLES DO COUNT IN ALBUQUERQUE: The Isotopes lead all of Minor League Baseball with 29 triples, ahead of Reno with 24. Derrik Gibson has tied his career-high with five triples, which are the most on team and tied for second in the PCL.

HERRERA HEATING UP: Rosell Herrera has reached base in 16 of his last 20 plate appearances after going 2-for-4 on Monday with two doubles. The 24-year-old has recorded 10 hits, six walks, four runs scored and four doubles during that span. Herrera drew three walks Sunday afternoon tying his career-high for base on balls in a single-game for the third time this season.

LET'S TALK ABOUT TAUCHMAN: Mike Tauchman has hit a career-high six home runs this season and leads the team with 32 RBI. Tauchman is hitting an impressive .397 (29-for-73) with 29 RBI with runners on base this year including .423 (11-for-26) with runners on and two outs.

CLOSING TIME: Matt Carasiti leads the PCL and Rockies organization in saves (11) and is second in the League in games finished (17). Carasiti has converted on all 11 of his save opportunities and is the 15th Isotope to ever record double-digit saves in a season. The Isotopes have 16-1 record in games in which Carasiti has appeared.

ALL-STAR UPDATE: Five Isotopes are currently in the top five of the PCL's All-Star Fan Voting as of Thursday, June 1. Jeff Hoffman is the leading vote getter among starting pitchers and Noel Cuevas has received the most votes as the designated hitter. Catcher Anthony Bemboom and relief pitcher Matt Carasiti are second in the polls at their respective positions while Mike Tauchman is fifth among outfielders. Fans can cast their votes through Friday, June 23 at MiLB.com, PCLBaseball.com, or any of the 30 Triple-A team websites.

TOPES TRANSACTIONS: Infielder Ryan McMahon and right-handed pitcher James Farris were called-up to Albuquerque today. McMahon batted .326 (59-for-181) with 16 doubles, six home runs and 32 RBI in 49 games with Double-A Hartford this season. McMahon, a second round pick in the 2013 Draft, is ranked by Baseball America as the Rockies ninth-best prospect entering this year. Farris recorded a 1.45 ERA (3er/18.2ip), 28 strikeouts and nine saves in 17 relief appearances with the Yard Goats. The 25-year- old has allowed only three home runs over his four-year professional career.

PINCH HITTERS OR PITCHER HITTERS: Albuquerque pinch hitters are 8-for-42 (.190) in 2017 with Mike Tauchman, Collin Ferguson and Rosell Herrera leading the team with two hits as a pinch hitters. Meanwhile, Isotopes pitchers are batting .209 (14- for-67), having hit safely in seven of their last 12 games after Harrison Musgrave and Shane Carle both had hits last Friday vs. OKC. Albuquerque is 18-15 against National League affiliates.

COLLEGE FLASHBACK: The 2017 NCAA Division-I Baseball Tournament begins today with seven Isotopes former colleges playing in the tourney. There are also 11 current Isotopes who once played in the tournament during their collegiate careers. Dustin Garneau went to the Regionals the most among the Isotopes, going all four years he was at Cal-State Fullerton (2006-09) while Matt Carasiti (St. John's 2010-12), Barry Enright (Pepperdine 2005-07) and Austin House (New Mexico 2010-12) went all three seasons at their respective universities. Garneau (CSF 2006-07, 2009), Matt Flemer (California, Berkeley 2011) and James Farris (Arizona, 2012) were the only players to reach a College World Series with Farris winning a National Championship in 2012 with the University of Arizona. Pitching coach Mark Brewer won a College World Series title at Arizona State University in 1981 and went to the 1992 CWS as a coach with the University of Texas.

SACRAMENTO TIES: River Cats catcher Tim Federowicz spent time with the Isotopes from 2011-14. Federowicz was voted Albuquerque's Defensive Player of the Year in 2012 ... Outfielder Chris Denorfia and pitcher Austin House are both former River Cats. Denorfia played in Sacramento from 2008-09 and was their Co-PCL Postseason MVP with current Rockie outfielder Carlos Gonzalez when they won the League Championship in 2008. House pitched in four games in his only season with the River Cats in 2014 ... Sacramento infielder Juan Aneuris Ciriaco is the older brother of Juan Manuel Ciriaco who played for the Isotopes earlier this season ... There are six Isotopes from California on the team: manager Glenallen Hill, pitcher Shane Carle - Santa Cruz; pitcher Barry Enright - Stockton; pitcher Zach Jemiola - Temecula; pitcher Matt Flemer - El Cerrito; catcher Dustin Garneau - San Pedro. Flemer also pitched for the University of California, Berkeley (2009-12) which is located about 80 miles southwest of Sacramento ... Hill played 358 games for the Giants from 1995-97 ... River Cats pitchers Matt Reynolds (2007-12) and Kraig Sitton (2010-15) both began their careers in the Rockies organization.

TOPES TIDBITS: The Isotopes 16 wins in May were the most they've recorded in that month since they had 17 in May 2012 ... Isotopes pitchers have surrendered 17 home runs over the last eight games ... C.C. Lee has the highest SO/9 IP Ratio among PCL relievers at 12.58 (34so/24.1ip) ... Austin House has recorded the second-most holds (6) in the PCL ... Raimel Tapia ranks third in batting average (.369) and is fifth in doubles (15) ... Jeff Hoffman is fourth in the PCL in opponents average (.220) and ninth in ERA (3.68, 18er/44.0ip) ... Albuquerque is 2-0 this season after scheduled off days.
