Gamblers Pass out Year End Awards

The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) have announced team honors for the 2015-2016 season. These players were selected for the following awards:

Most Valuable Player - Adam Huska

Best Offensive Player - Sam Saliba

Best Defensive Player - Luke Bafia

Community Service Award- Matt Berkovitz

Huska logged 2,138 minutes this season posting a 26-9-2 record in 37 games between the pipes for the Gamblers. The New York Rangers prospect was the top ranked goaltender in the USHL in Save Percentage (.931) and broke a Tier 1 record in GAA (1.82) during the regular season. Huska also ranked 2nd in the USHL with four shutouts.

Selected as the captain of this year's squad, Sam Saliba led the Gamblers in scoring tallying 52 points (29 goals, 23 assists) in 59 games. In addition, the Michigan State recruit led all USHL skaters in powerplay goals during the regular season (16). Saliba played 82 games in two seasons with the Gamblers totaling 70 points (37 goals, 33 assists).

Bafia registered 14 points (1 goal, 13 assists), 118 penalty minutes and a plus 12 plus/minus rating in 53 games this season. Selected as an assistan captain for the 2015-2016 team, the Western Michigan recruit suited up for 113 games in two seasons for the Gamblers netting 23 points (2 goals, 21 assists) and 252 penalty minutes.

Off the ice, Berkovitz volunteered countless hours to various community-based programs, such as youth hockey and reading in the local elementary schools. On the ice, the Wisconsin commit registered 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists) in 75 games over the past two seasons with the Gamblers.
