Gailen's Walk-Off Hit Gives Drillers
12th Straight Home Win
Tulsa, OK - On Star Wars Night at ONEOK Field, Tulsa outfielder Blake Gailen was the star of the game. Gailen's walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth scored Erick Mejia with the winning run as the Drillers topped San Antonio 6-5 for their 12th straight home victory. The win, combined with Springfield's loss to Corpus Christi, moved the Drillers to within one game of the first place Cardinals in the Texas League's North Division pennant race with only 16 games remaining in the second half.
Tulsa rallied for the dramatic win after failing to hold an initial four-run lead. The comeback allowed the Drillers to keep their home winning streak alive. They have not lost at ONEOK Field in nearly a month with their last home loss occurring on July 19.
Los Angeles Dodger outfielder Andre Ethier was in the Tulsa lineup . . . Click Here to Read More.
