Fury FC Sign to Generation Adidas

OTTAWA- Fury FC added pace and skills to their lineup on Thursday with the signing of Canadian forward Adonijah Reid from FC Dallas.Reid, 17, is the first Canadian Generation Adidas player selected in an MLS SuperDraft.

"Adonijah is a young and dynamic player with a very good finishing ability," said Fury FC GM and Head Coach, Paul Dalglish. "He will bring a lot of pace and competition for places in our attack."

The 17-year-old was selected in the second round (40th overall) of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas. In 2015, the 5-foot-6 forward won the Golden Boot award in League1 Ontario after scoring 20 goals for ANB Futbol in the third division of Canadian Soccer. That same year he also won the Young Player of the Year award.

On the International stage, Reid was a member of Canadian U-20 National Team camp ahead of the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Korea. The Brampton, ON native was first called into a Canadian national squad at the age of 14. He also had an extended trial with France's Ligue 1 OGC Nice.

"I'm very grateful for this opportunity with Ottawa Fury FC," said Reid. "It will be a good opportunity for myself to compete with good players. I want to get some games and minutes under my belt and obviously help this team succeed."

Fury FC will wrap up their two-game road trip Saturday in Toronto when they face TFC II. Ottawa will then return home on July 12 for a friendly against the Montreal Impact before hosting the Rochester Rhinos on July 15.
