Frederick Keys News Release
The Keys scored seven two-out runs and held on for dear life late in a 7-5 victory. For Frederick it was their first win of the second half (1-3) and ended a four-game losing streak dating back to June 17th.
Frederick broke the game open with two three run innings.
In the fourth inning with the bases loaded and two men out, CF Kennard Jones tripled home three runs to put the Keys on top 4-0.
In the fifth inning the Keys got an RBI double from 1B Mark Fleisher and and two-run single from C Justin Johnson to push the lead to 7-0.
Fleisher went 4-for-5 in the contest with two doubles, his highest hit total in a game this year.
Frederick held on after a four-run Potomac ninth to win. The Nationals stranded the potential tying baserunner at first base to end the game.
The Keys continue their road trip Monday, June 25th at Potomac at 7:35 p.m.
Frederick will return home to take on the Kinston Indians Wednesday, June 27th at 7:00 p.m. Playoff tickets will go on sale that day as well. For Keys tickets contact the Keys Box Office at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or you can purchase online at frederickkeys.com.
