Frazier deals gem, Tourists keep rolling
July 13, 2009 - South Atlantic League (SAL1) - Asheville Tourists News Release
(East Lake, OH) Parker Frazier turned in eight shutout innings and allowed just two hits in a 1-0 win on Monday from Lake County Ohio. Jordan Pacheco drove in the games only run with a single in the 7th inning to open an eight-game road trip. Frazier's outing was the longest for an Asheville pitcher this season and the longest of his career. The win, with a Bowling Green loss places Asheville (12-5) in sole possession of first place.
Frazier (6-6) struck out three and walked none in the win. The right-hander picked up three double plays and retired the final 11 batters he faced before being removed after eight innings. Adam Jorgenson picked up his 18th save of the season with a 1-2-3 ninth innings. Jorgenson is now second in the SAL in saves only two behind the leader Pat Venditte.
Scott Robinson singled with two outs in the seventh, stole second base and socred on a Pacheco single for the only run of the game. Ryan Peisel singled in the ninth inning to extend his hitting streak to a season-high 11 games.
