Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza Opens Homestand

FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the 2010 World Champion San Francisco Giants, return home for seven games, as they host their Highway 99 Showdown Series rival Sacramento River Cats for three games and the Tucson Padres for four contests, beginning Monday, July 4th at Chukchansi Park in Downtown Fresno.

Always one of the biggest nights of the year, Monday, July 4th brings not only the largest fireworks show in the Valley with the Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by Save Mart Supermarkets and ABC 30, but also the Grizzlies' Highway 99 Showdown Series rivals, the Sacramento River Cats. Grizzlies players will don special Independence Day hats, which will be available in limited quantities in the Grizzlies Team Store. Fans that purchase their Fourth of July tickets will have the option of purchasing a $5 ticket of equal value to either the Tuesday, July 5th fireworks night or Friday, July 8th Pack-the-Park fireworks night.

The Independence Day Weekend celebration continues with Fifth of July Fireworks, a special Tuesday night fireworks show on July 5th. As always, it will also be 2-For-Tuesday, presented by KMPH FOX 26. Fans who purchase 2-for-1 Field Level Reserve tickets will also receive two FREE children's buffets at John's Incredible Pizza. In addition, hot dogs and sodas will be just $2 each through the end of the fifth inning, and kids will have FREE unlimited Fun Zone access all game long. Wednesday, July 6th is another World Champion Wednesday, presented by the Fresno Bee, continuing the Grizzlies' year-long celebration of the Giants' World Championship. As with every Wednesday this season, one lucky fan will win a trip for four to see the Giants play at AT&T Park and a free night's stay at the Donatello Hotel in San Francisco. Plus, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a special Giant oversized baseball card, featuring 2010 Grizzly, National League Rookie of the Year, and member of the Giants World Championship team, Buster Posey.

Thirsty Thursday, presented by Tecate and Tecate Light, returns Thursday, July 7th. As they are at every Thursday home game, 12-ounce Tecate and Tecate Light beers are just $1 through the fifth inning, and 12-ounce sodas are just $1 all night long. Gates open at 6:05pm, so don't forget to show up early!

The Grizzlies will help Poverello House with a food drive for the second and final time this season as the organization joins with PG&E and CBS 47 to Pack the Park to Help Fight Hunger, Friday, July 8th. In addition to Friday Night Fireworks, presented by CBS 47, the Grizzlies are giving fans $1 off their tickets in exchange for bringing a non-perishable food item to the ballpark. Furthermore, the team will donate 25 cents for every person in attendance to Poverello House to help them in their mission to feed the hungry in Fresno. So come down to the park and enjoy some great baseball while helping a great cause.

Saturday July 9th is Harry Potter Night, featuring specially designed Harry Potter theme jerseys, which will be auctioned off to benefit Central Valley Junior Achievement Program. Junior Achievement Worldwide is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. Come out to the ballpark and have a chance to win Harry Potter movie premiere tickets, courtesy of Regal Entertainment Group, and join in the wizard costume contest!

Saturday also marks the rescheduled date of the Buster Posey Rookie of the Year/World Champion Bobblehead Giveaway, presented by Bayer CropScience. The likeness of the phenom catcher who led the Giants' miraculous run to the playoffs and eventually a title, will be available to the first 2,000 fans through the gates. As always, season ticket holders are guaranteed their giveaways, and can collect them at Gate 2 on H Street. It isn't too late to become a 2011 season ticket holder and guarantee yourself a piece of history today.

The series and homestand concludes on Sunday, July 10th with Junior Grizzlies Day. The participants from the Grizzlies Community Fund's non-competitive baseball league for athletes with mental and physical disabilities will take the field with the Grizzlies prior to the 6:05pm game. Sunday will also be a day full of family entertainment with Save Mart Sunday, presented by Save Mart Supermarkets. The festivities will include a pregame Future Giants Autograph Session, and Kids Run The Bases postgame.
