Four Voyagers to Represent Great Falls in All-Star Game

Great Falls, MT-The Pioneer League of Professional Baseball has announced its roster for the second annual PBL vs. NWL (Northwest League) All-Star Game to be played Tuesday, August 2nd at Lindquist field in Ogden, UT.
Players from each of the eight PBL teams comprise the 28-man roster. The roster features four players from Great Falls, including starting all-star OF Aaron Schnurbusch. The other Voyagers selected for the team are third baseman Brady Conlan, starting pitcher Aron McRee, and relief pitcher Jake Elliott.
Schnurbusch was drafted by the White Sox in the 28th round in 2016 out of the University of Pittsburgh. He currently ranks third in the Pioneer League in hitting with a .395 average. Schnurbusch is second in on-base percentage at .493, and leads the league in walks with 22.
Brady Conlan is tied for third in the league in total hits with 48. He is batting .312 and leads the team in RBIs with 22. Conlan is also tied for the team lead in home runs at four. The all-star reserve began his first professional season with a 19-game hitting streak, which is currently tied for the longest streak in the league this season. Conlan was drafted in the 24th round out of Cal State-Dominguez Hills.
Aron McRee went from undrafted out of the University of Montevallo to being named an all-star in his first professional season. McRee has a 3-0 record with a 2.65 ERA. In 37.1 innings pitched, he has struck out 30 and walked just two. Opponents are hitting only .224 against him this season. McRee has the fourth lowest ERA in the league and the lowest WHIP (walks plus hits per innings pitched) at 0.91.
Jake Elliott is the lone reliever for the Voyagers named to the PBL all-star team. Elliott has a 2-1 mark with a 1.47 ERA. In 18.1 innings, he has struck out 21 and walked three. Opponents are only hitting .217 against him this season. Elliott was drafted in the 15th round this year from the University of Oklahoma.
Great Falls closes out the season's first-half schedule with a series finale at Grand Junction Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 7:05. After an off-day Thursday, the ten-game road trip concludes with a three-game set at Billings Friday through Sunday.
