Four SeaWolves Headed to the Arizona Fall League

Erie, PA- The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are pleased to announce that RHP Artie Lewicki, RHP Adam Ravenelle, C Grayson Greiner and OF Christin Stewart have been named to the Arizona Fall League and will play for the Salt River Rafters.

ARTIE LEWICKI

Lewicki was the Tigers eighth round selection in the 2014 draft out of the University of Virginia. Lewicki made five appearances, three starts, for Class-A Lakeland prior to joining the SeaWolves. He was 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA in those five appearances for the Flying Tigers. With the SeaWolves, Lewicki has made 10 starts, posting a 1-7 record and 3.48 ERA.

ADAM RAVENELLE

The right-handed flame-thrower Ravenelle was drafted by the Tigers in the fourth round of the 2014 draft out of Vanderbilt University. He began the season in Class-A Lakeland where he appeared in 23 games, all in relief, posting a 2-1 record with three saves and a 2.86 ERA. Ravenelle has made 24 relief appearances with Erie, posting an 0-1 record with one save and a 5.26 ERA. Ravenelle has not allowed an earned run in his past five appearances for the SeaWolves.

GRAYSON GREINER

Greiner is in the midst of a breakout season in the minor leagues. He was the Tigers third round selection in 2014 out of the University of South Carolina. He began the season in Class-A Lakeland where he played in 31 games, hitting .312 with 12 RBI. After a sluggish start with Erie, Greiner has put up a monster month of August, hitting .380 with five home runs and 12 RBI over 18 games. His overall numbers with the SeaWolves are a .289 average with seven home runs and 30 RBI.

CHRISTIN STEWART

Stewart is only in his second season of professional baseball and is already turning heads by making it to the Double-A level. He was the Tigers first round selection out of the University of Tennessee in 2015. Stewart played in 103 games with Class-A Lakeland where he hit .262 with 23 home runs and 67 RBI prior to his promotion to Erie. He was also the Most Valuable Player of the Florida State League All-Star Game. In 18 games with Erie, Stewart is hitting .222 with two home runs and nine RBI.

Other Tigers prospects to be named to the AFL include Spencer Turnbull (Lakeland), Jeff Thompson (Lakeland) and former SeaWolves standout JaCoby Jones (Detroit). SeaWolves Hitting Coach Phil Clark will assume those same duties for the River Rafters.

The final SeaWolves home game of 2016 is Thursday, September 1 against the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians). Thursday is Fan Appreciation Night featuring over $5,000 in prize giveaways during the game. Enjoy Yuengling Happy Hour featuring $2 drafts exclusively at the Smith's Shack until the end of the third inning.
