El Paso Diablos News Release

EL PASO- The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball Clubs Commissioner Miles Wolff announced on Wednesday the addition of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, Gary SouthShore RailCats, Kansas City T-Bones and Winnipeg Goldeyes to the league for the 2011 season. The clubs were admitted at the annual meetings in Grand Prairie, TX.

The teams were formerly members of the Northern League, all for the past nine seasons or longer, and combined to win its previous six championships. In 2010, the four clubs drew nearly 900,000 fans to their games.

"It's an exciting day for the American Association," Wolff said. "We're adding four clubs that have excellent operations on and off the field, and it's going to make us a very strong 14-team league."

The league will feature three divisions for next season's campaign, with Fargo-Moorhead, St. Paul, Sioux Falls and Winnipeg in the North Division; Gary SouthShore, Kansas City, Lincoln, Sioux City and Wichita comprising the Central Division; and El Paso, Fort Worth, Grand Prairie, Pensacola and Shreveport-Bossier making up the South Division.

The American Association also announced that it would be expanding its regular-season schedule to 100 games, with starting and ending dates to be announced shortly.

Diablos season tickets and other ticket packages are on sale now for the 2011 season. The 2011 schedule will soon be released. For more information please call 915-755-2000 or visit www.diablos.com.
