Foster Named Starter, Rodriguez Added to All-Star Roster

(Burlington-IA) - Burlington Bees outfielder Jared Foster was named the starting center fielder for the 2016 Midwest League All-Star Game in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, June 21st.

Foster will take the spot of Quad Cities River Bandits outfielder Kyle Tucker who was placed on the disabled list. Foster has played in 49 games for the Bees and has a batting average of .257 and is tied for the team lead in home runs with four, while batting in 24. The fifth round pick from 2015, is second on the team in doubles with 15 and leads the team in triples with two.

Also added to the West Division roster is Bees' pitcher Jose Rodriguez. Rodriguez was added to the roster in place of Grayson Long, who is on the disabled list. Rodriguez owns a 3-3 record with a 3.36 ERA in 13 starts this season. Foster and Rodriguez join Jaime Barria as the three representatives from the Bees' roster.

The 52nd annual Midwest League All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, June 21st, at 7:05 CDT at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
