Kearney, Neb. - Forward Nicholas Nardella has joined the Tri-City Storm's active roster as an eligible affiliate player, Head Coach and General Manager Bill Muckalt announced Friday.

Nardella has played in two games for Tri-City this season, October 14-15. In eight games this season with the Chicago Mission U18 program, the 17-year-old has two goals and ten points.

The 17-year-old is the younger brother of former Storm defenseman Bobby Nardella, who set the Storm's single-season record for points by a defenseman (42) in 2014-15. Bobby is a sophomore at Notre Dame, playing alongside 2015-16 Storm Captain and 2016 Clark Cup champion Tory Dello. The three players are products of the Chicago Mission youth program.

A native of Rosemont, Illinois, Nardella was added to the Storm's active roster on September 29, 2015 while playing for the Mission's U16 club.

Nardella's father, Bob, is an Assistant Coach for the Chicago Wolves. Bob played in the USHL for the Des Moines Buccaneers (1986-88), was a defenseman at Ferris State (1988-91), played more than 600 professional games in North America and overseas, and represented Team Italy at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics and the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.

Tri-City hosts the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3. Friday's game is a 7:05 p.m. puck drop for First Responders Night, presented by New West Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, plus a $5 Kids Friday. Tri-City will honor local first responders throughout the night, paying tribute to the hard work and efforts of so many in the central Nebraska community.
