Forward Brett Sutter Adds More Leadership to Reign Roster

Ontario, CA -The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), have agreed to terms with veteran forward Brett Sutter.
Sutter, 29, enters his 10th professional season and first full year with the Reign after joining the team at the NHL trade deadline last season. In 17 regular-season contests with Ontario, the Viking, Alberta, product picked up seven points (five goals, two assists) and was limited to one assist in five Calder Cup Playoffs due to injury.

In 612 career AHL contests with Ontario, Iowa Wild, Charlotte Checkers, Abbotsford Heat and Quad City Flames, Sutter registered 100 goals and 151 assists for 251 points and 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) in 39 Calder Cup Playoff games.
Like forward Sean Backman, who was re-signed last Friday, Sutter holds close family ties to the organization. His father, Darryl, is the head coach of the Kings. "It was the first time in my career that [I] was able to spend an off day with family or just drive down and have a dinner with the family," Sutter told Reign Insider.

Selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Sutter appeared in 60 NHL contests with the Flames, Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild picking up 10 points (two goals, eight assists).
