Fort Wayne Wins 8th Straight, Topping Dragons 14-4

Fort Wayne, Ind.- Diego Goris collected four hits and scored four runs as the Fort Wayne TinCaps defeated the Dayton Dragons 14-4 on Monday night. Fort Wayne completed a three-game sweep as they picked up their eighth consecutive victory and their 13th win in their last 14 games. The Dragons finished their six-game road trip with a 2-4 record as they dropped to 26-37 in the first half.

Fort Wayne built a 10-0 lead over the first three innings, scoring one run in the first, three more in the second, and six in the third inning. The TinCaps took a 14-0 lead to the ninth inning before the Dragons scored four times, getting a three-run home run from Junior Arias, his sixth homer of the year.

Dragons starting pitcher Drew Cisco (2-4) worked the first two and two-thirds innings and suffered the loss. He allowed eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Alejandro Chacin replaced Cisco with two outs in the third and worked three innings, allowing three hits and four runs (two earned) with three walks and one strikeout. Ben Klimesh closed it out for the Dragons, going two and one-third innings, allowing two runs on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

The Dragons finished with nine hits. Beau Amaral, Joe Terry, and Tanner Rahier each had two.

The Dragons return home to Fifth Third Field to open a three-game series with Bowling Green on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Ismael Guillon (2-6, 6.80) will start for Dayton against Bowling Green's Blake Snell (1-5, 4.14).
