Wichita Thunder News Release

Wichita, KS- The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced today that forward Gabriel Gagne has been assigned by the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators.

Gagne, 19, is a former second round pick of the Senators, #36 overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The Laval, Quebec native is the highest assigned former draft pick sent to the Thunder and the youngest player in team history. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound forward played three full seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Victoriaville and Shawinigan. His best season came during the 2014-15 campaign when he piled up 59 points (35g, 24a) in 67 games and added three points during the postseason (2g, 1a). Overall, he compiled 132 points (68g, 64a) in 177 career games. Wichita hosts the Missouri Mavericks on Friday night for the first time this season. This is the first of 14 meetings between the two teams and a chance for the Thunder to get off to a good start after going 2-12-0-1 last year against Missouri.
